PERAN MODERASI TIPE KEPRIBADIAN OPENESS TO EXPERIENCE DALAM PENGARUH CYBERVICTIMIZATION TERHADAP PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING PADA REMAJA

Abstrak

Cybervictimization is a negative experience frequently encountered by adolescents who use social media and has the potential to decrease psychological well-being. However, not all adolescents experiencing cybervictimization show low psychological well-being, as personality factors such as openness to experience are assumed to play a moderating role. Adolescents with high openness to experience are considered more flexible in interpreting negative experiences, able to view situations from different perspectives, and capable of developing adaptive coping strategies, thus maintaining their psychological well-being despite experiencing cybervictimization. This study aims to examine the effect of cybervictimization on psychological well-being as well as the moderating role of openness to experience among adolescents who are active social media users. The research employed a quantitative explanatory design involving 334 adolescents aged 13–19 years. The instruments used included scales of cybervictimization, psychological well-being, and openness to experience, and data were analyzed using simple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed that cybervictimization had a positive effect on psychological well-being, and openness to experience was also positively related to psychological well-being, but it did not moderate the relationship between the two. These findings indicate that openness to experience functions more as an independent factor that enhances psychological well-being rather than as a moderator that strengthens or weakens the effect of cybervictimization on psychological well-being.

Cybervictimization merupakan pengalaman negatif yang sering dialami remaja pengguna media sosial dan berpotensi menurunkan psychological well- being. Namun, tidak semua remaja yang mengalami cybervictimization mengalami penurunan psychological well-being, karena adanya faktor kepribadian seperti openness to experience yang diasumsikan mampu berperan sebagai moderator. Remaja dengan openness to experience tinggi diperkirakan lebih fleksibel dalam memaknai pengalaman negatif, mampu melihat berbagai perspektif baru, serta menemukan strategi penyesuaian diri yang adaptif sehingga dapat mempertahankan psychological well-being meskipun mengalami cybervictimization. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh cybervictimization terhadap psychological well- being serta peran moderasi openness to experience pada remaja pengguna aktif media sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif eksplanatori dengan melibatkan 334 remaja berusia 13–19 tahun. Instrumen penelitian meliputi skala cybervictimization, psychological well-being, dan openness to experience, dengan analisis data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana dan Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cybervictimization berpengaruh positif terhadap psychological well-being, dan openness to experience juga berhubungan positif dengan psychological well-being, namun tidak memoderasi hubungan keduanya. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa openness to experience lebih berperan sebagai faktor independen yang meningkatkan psychological well-being, tetapi tidak cukup untuk memperkuat atau memperlemah pengaruh cybervictimization terhadap psychological well-being.
